Description
We seek an outstanding post-doctoral researcher for our activities in experimental biosciences. Our activities aim at applying IBM's expertise in microtechnology, microfluidics and biochemistry to the development of powerful, miniaturized bioanalytical systems. In this postdoctoral position, the research will focus on miniaturizing immunoassays using microfluidics and the analysis of cells using a scanning, non-contact microfluidic technology.
The successful candidate will have access to a laboratory fully equipped for designing and fabricating microfluidic systems, and to standard equipment for surface chemistry, surface analysis, and biochemistry. The candidate will have the primary responsibility for designing and fabricating microfluidic chips and for validating the microfluidic technology in a medically-relevant context together with a partner. The candidate also will have the opportunity to rapidly expand this technology and to drive it towards commercialization in collaboration with this partner.
Applicants are expected to hold a PhD in a field related to microtechnology and have an excellent track record of research at the international level in biology or biochemistry. Experience with microfluidics as applied to bioanalytical sciences is highly desirable. The candidate should be very creative, able to meet deadlines, and have excellent communication skills (written and oral).
This position is available immediately for a duration of 18 months. The successful candidate will enjoy an internationally competitive salary and work in a collaborative and creative group in an exclusive research environment.
If the above position fits your background and if you are interested in this challenging position, please send your complete curriculum vitae, including a list of publications, and the names of three references to
