Software Development Internship with the Development Team at the IBM Rational Research Lab

About the position

Our software development team is a small, agile, highly focused group delivering reliable, high-quality software that users are passionate about. As part of IBM Research - Zurich, the IBM Rational Lab has a long history of developing tools for software developers. Our most popular project is Eclipse, which started in our Labs. We are still contributing to the Eclipse Open Source project, but are also working on new IBM products such as Jazz and Rational Team Concert as part of a distributed team with sites in North America and Europe. The IBM Rational Lab is located in the old town of Zurich.

We are looking for students who are attending university and taking a Master's level course. You should be located in Switzerland and have a valid permit.

As an intern you will join a small, agile team with a track record of shipping quality software on time. Starting from small bug fixes or enhancements, your goal is to deliver a new feature into one of our products. You will be assigned a buddy from the team who coaches you through the entire development cycle. You will participate in all development activities and use various programming languages and tools including Java, Ajax/JavaScript, Eclipse, JUnit, and Rational Team Concert.

The start and end dates are flexible with the only constraint that it needs to be full-time for at least three months.

Diversity

IBM is committed to diversity at the workplace. With us, you will find an open, multicultural environment. Excellent, flexible working arrangements enable both women and men to strike the desired balance between their professional development and their personal lives.
