Pitch your vision of the most exciting
IT applications and challenges against the brightest
students in central and eastern Europe, and win
the unique opportunity to do an internship
at IBM's world-famous Zurich Reseach Lab.
The Great Minds initiative is a competition for internship
positions at the IBM Zurich Research Laboratory, the
European branch of IBM Research, aimed at students
from central and eastern Europe. Its goal is to foster
exceptionally skilled young students of computer science
by giving them the unique opportunity to work alongside
IBM researchers in one of the world's premier industrial
IT research organizations.
The internships will take place in 2009. The
exact starting time and duration will be agreed upon
individually with the winning students,
taking into account their academic commitments and
the availability of IBM staff. IBM will pay the winners'
travel expenses to and from Zurich, as well as compensation
that covers adequately the cost of living in Switzerland.
The Zurich Research Laboratory is running the Great
Minds initiative for the second time. Six
students selected from the applicants to the
Great
Minds 2007 initiative have undertaken their
internship at Zurich. Read here about
their experiences.
The Great Minds winners will bring back to their universities
valuable understanding of real industry problems, knowledge
of IBM advanced technologies, and contacts with IBM
Research.
