... at the Industry Solutions Lab starts with a cup of good coffee!
Up to 20 decision makers and business experts of a company or institution are invited at a time. They first have the opportunity and are encouraged to talk about the concerns and challenges faced by their company.
Next, IBM experts present current trends in information technology as well as their view of the challenges faced by the customer's industry, and present key technologies to meet these challenges. These presentations play a very important role and can also address specific challenges, such as strategic outsourcing or knowledge management.
Prototype technology demonstrations are shown to support the presentations and often generate new thoughts and ideas for the visitors.
The last part of the meeting is often devoted to detailed interactive discussions of possible solutions to a customer's problems, which can go as far as deciding on the next steps to be implemented, including agreements concerning first-of-a-kind solutions to be developed by IBM Research in close collaboration with the customer.
Every visit to the Zurich Industry Solutions Lab is unique because we tailor each one to suit the customer. The agenda is developed together with the IBM Account Manager and the customer. The following sample agenda gives you an idea of what a visit to the Zurich ISL can be like.
