MOPED: Astrophysics solutions for Protein Folding
Alan Heavens-Institute for Astronomy, Univ. of Edinburgh, Royal Observatory, Blackford Hill,Edinburgh EH9 3HJ,UK

MOPED (Multiple Optimised Parameter Estimation and Data Compression) is an algorithm which provides massive data compression and greatly reduced analysis times for estimating parameters from data. Developed at the University of Edinburgh and proven in the field of astrophysics, it is ageneral mathematical technique, which can readily be applied to otherfields which use parameter-based models, and is applicable to protein folding analysis.
* Extremely rapid parameter fitting to data
* Combines massive data compression with no loss of
information about the parameters
* High accuracy of solution
* General Mathematical technique - applicable in any field
* Derived from solution of complex problems in Astrophysics
