To strengthen our worldwide IBM Research Legal team, we are looking for a Contract Professional (80-100% job) who will join our team of legal professionals. You will report directly to the IBM Research Europe Counsel and will work with many different functions, including Business Development Executives, Researchers, Finance, and other Legal team members.

Responsability areas

  • Draft, review, negotiate, manage required approvals, and bring to execution a wide range of agreements, including technology licenses, joint development agreements, multi-party EU consortium agreements, service agreements and NDAs.
  • Maintain and manage the contracts repository, assuring efficient processes with audits and internal guidelines.
  • Advise management on contractual matters and efficiently identify and suggest mitigation for legal or business risks.
  • Coordinate with various teams (Finance, Security, Export and others) in contracting matters to support internal policies and procedures.

Minimum qualifications

  • Law degree and (preferably) admission to the bar.
  • At least 6 years of in-house or law firm experience drafting and negotiating contracts, preferably in the information and communication technology (ICT) industry.
  • Excellent written and oral English and German (the work will be mainly in English).
  • Strong drafting and negotiation skills, analytical approach and attention to details.
  • Strong organizational abilities and project management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize competing tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to foster teamwork, and maintain excellent working relationships with different stakeholders, such as internal clients, colleagues and external customers.

Preferred qualifications

  • Experience with intellectual property and privacy laws.
  • Familiarity with cloud computing, AI and ICT infrastructure.
  • Experience in negotiating multi-party agreements.
  • Experience in drafting ICT agreements.
