Molecule characterization

We strive to image and measure molecular properties with ever increasing resolution. Using AFM imaging  with functionalized tips we demonstrated that several complementary properties of individual molecules can be resolved atomically:

  1. The charge distribution [1]
  2. The bond order [2]
  3. The adsorption geometry [3]

In addition, molecular orbitals  can be resolved by STM [4,5].
