November 2005. Of a great number of high-quality submissions,
this year's IBM Privacy Faculty Award goes to
Carnegie Mellon University, represented by
Alessandro Acquisti, Lorrie Cranor, and Norman Sadeh
in appreciation of its broad and sound track record in privacy
research. In particular, the Platform for Privacy Preferences (P3P)
as well as the broad support of privacy by multiple faculty members
have convinced the board to grant the award to CMU.
